The video is directed by Lorenzo Diego and brings some interesting ideas that fully capture the direction and vibe of the album. Jerry Cantrell explained that sci-fi and the fear of technology have been around for a long time, and they have now become reality. He also commented on AI technology: ‘AI is a boogeyman we’ve grown up with, but now we’re living in a time when it’s becoming more of a reality… it’s part of the conversation of our lives and the world…’
The album Want Blood, co-produced by Jerry Cantrell and Joe Barresi (known for working with Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, and Melvins), was recorded at Barresi’s JHOC Studio in Pasadena, California. It features bassists Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) and Robert Trujillo (Metallica), drummers Gil Sharone (Team Sleep, Stolen Babies) and Mike Bordin (Faith No More), and backing vocals by Lola Colette and Greg Puciato (Better Lovers, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan).
You can pre-order the album in CD, digital, and multiple 2LP vinyl formats. The 2LP vinyl versions of I Want Blood also include special spoken word versions of each song, adding a unique touch to the album.
