The Last Ever Aerosmith Concert Ended With A Surprise – Not Their Own Song!
Unfortunately, the concert in Elmont, NY will be remembered as the last one in Aerosmith’s career. On September 9, 2023 Aerosmith played their very last show at UBS Arena, Elmont, NY. The concert will also be remembered as the last one in the band’s career that didn’t end with one of their own songs.
Who would have thought that the people in the arena in Elmont that day would be witnessing the last concert in Aerosmith’s career? Just another performance on the new “Peace Out” tour by the legendary rockers didn’t go smoothly. Steven Tyler had been having voice problems even before this show.
The band intended this tour to be a grand farewell to their fans, but nature had its way. The tour was postponed, and Steven underwent medical treatments to restore his voice, his irreplaceable and invaluable instrument, to the level we were all accustomed to. But in the end, unfortunately, he couldn’t succeed. Almost a year later, Aerosmith confirmed in a statement released on social media that the end had come—there would be no more tours.
They played their usual set with expected hits from their long career. There were also two cover songs, and one of their own that hadn’t been played since 1994. The end of the show was epic too. It wasn’t the Aerosmith song that closed this now legendary show; it was a happy birthday chant for the band’s guitarist, Joe Perry.
Anyway, even if it ended a bit unexpectedly like this, it ended with style and on good terms with the fans, and that is the most important thing. Thank you for everything, Aerosmith, you deserve your permanent vacation!
