Was Slave to the Grind by Skid Row a Flop? – Hair Matal Guru Examines
Was Slave to the Grind by Skid Row a flop album?
Wait—an album that charted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA? How could that be a flop? Isn’t that a bit of a bold and controversial statement? What’s going on here?
Think what you want of it, but this is exactly what Hair Metal Guru discussed in his latest video on his YouTube channel, and we believe it’s worth mentioning. Guru presented a variety of facts to support his argument. In general, it’s not easy to prove anything when it comes to music, especially when fans’ emotions are involved. The second Skid Row album is certainly one of the biggest albums of the genre, and definitely one of the band’s two best albums (the eternal debate over whether Slave to the Grind or Skid Row [1989] is better). However, when you have the facts laid out in black and white, as Guru did, many things become clearer, whether you want to admit it or not.
