Starbenders Release Video For the New Song “Tokyo”
The Atlanta-based rockers Starbenders has just dropped their brand-new single, “Tokyo,” marking their first release since their latest album, Take Back The Night, which came out in September last year through Sumerian Records. The goth-new wavy track offers fans a taste of what’s to come, as it gives a glimpse into the band’s next album. The upcoming album is expected to be released in early 2025.
“It was really fun to write because that song just fell out of me,” says lead singer/guitarist Kimi Shelter about the new single. “It’s about extraterrestrials coming into our world. I can kind of see myself as being the ultra-terrestrial pulled into this dimension of the night time streets. The city is always alive, but at night it’s a whole other world. I think the character comes into the night and doesn’t really understand why they’re there and maybe is confused and then is trying to figure out who they’re supposed to go to.”
The band’s previous LP release Take Back The Night ended up in the Junkyard Rock Stories top ten hard rock albums of 2023.
