10 Things I Think About The New Crazy Lixx Album
10 Things I Think About Crazy Lixx’s new album Thrill Of The Bite
Crazy Lixx is back with their eighth album, Thrill of the Bite, which dropped on February 14. This release marks another chapter in the band’s long lastingr career, delivering a heavier and darker sound while keeping that signature sleaze-glam energy. Here are ten things I think about Thrill of the Bite – a review in this day and age 2025!
1. Thrill of the Bite Is a Step Up from Street Lethal
Street Lethal was solid, don’t get me wrong. It had its moments, some great hits, and an overall cool vibe. But this? This is something else. Thrill of the Bite takes everything up a notch—heavier guitars, more attitude, and a much tighter feel. Some people prefer the AOR influences from the last album, and that’s fine, but as a complete package, this one is just better.
2. The Perfect Number of Songs
10 songs. That’s all you need. Anything less feels like an incomplete album, and anything more can drag things out. Crazy Lixx nailed it—this is the perfect amount. It fits nicely on a CD or a record, it works great for streaming (which is important in this day and age), and there’s no fillers. Just bangers from start to finish.
3. No Filler, Just Killers
There isn’t a single weak song on Thrill of the Bite. It’s tight, hard-hitting, and loaded with melodies that stick with you. The licks, the lyrics, the hooks—it’s all there. Plus, the overarching vampire/horror theme just ties everything together so well. It’s not a full concept album (Danny Rexon confirmed that in an interview we did with him), but that horror vibe runs through the whole thing, making it feel like a complete experience. It’s a 10/10 – measured by the unique 1-0/5-0 approach.
4. Danny Rexon’s First Time Producing the Band
For the first time, Danny Rexon produced a Crazy Lixx album himself. And honestly? He nailed it. The sound is bigger, heavier, and sharper than before. You can hear the difference, and it’s all for the better. It’s cool to see a frontman take full creative control and actually improve the band’s sound in the process. That’s not easy at all.
5. The Guitars Are Next Level – And Criminally Underrated
Let’s be real—if someone asks you to name your favorite modern guitarists, Jens Lundgren and Chrisse Olsson probably aren’t the first names that pop into your head. And that’s a damn shame because these guys absolutely rip. The riffs on this album are insane. The solos are blazing. The melodies? Just damn perfectly crafted. If you play guitar, and you are into 80s riffs, do yourself a favor—go listen to Thrill Of The Bite, learn some of these riffs and licks and record yourself jamming along on your YouTube channels. You won’t regret it. Trust me. There is a free content idea for you all – thanks to Crazy Lixx and me!
6. The Heaviest Crazy Lixx Album in a Long Time
This record isn’t just heavier than Street Lethal—it’s one of the heaviest Crazy Lixx albums to date. It throws back to the raw energy of their early days, particularly the first two or three records. Fans who have been craving a heavier sound from the band will find plenty to love here. It brings back that power while keeping the big anthemic choruses intact.
7. Strong Singles and Killer Deep-Cuts
.Crazy Lixx always puts out strong singles, but this time, they really delivered. Call of the Wild set the tone, Little Miss Dangerous had an incredible video (which, by the way, won Best Video of 2024 on Junkyard Rock Stories), and Midnight Devils plus Hunt for Danger kept up the momentum. The videos? Absolutely on point. These guys know how to mix music and visuals to create something special. We talked about that too with Danny. He explained why are these videos still important in this day and age. On the other hand, a good album is not measured by it’s singles – it’s deep-cuts that are giving it all the glory. Songs like Recipe For Revolution and Run Run Wild are possibly the best two track on this release. You see, that’s how strong this album really is!
8. A Horror-Inspired Theme Done Right
Crazy Lixx always has a theme. Street Lethal had the arcade fighting game vibe, Forever Wild had the Top Gun energy, and now we’ve got vampires, horror, and slasher movie aesthetics. And they nailed it. Just watch the Little Miss Dangerous video—graveyards, eerie lighting, that gothic touch. Then Hunt for Danger with Danny looking like some kind of evil priest. It’s all so perfectly executed.
9. Is This the Album of the Year? Maybe
Yeah, it’s only February, and there’s a lot of music still to come this year. But let’s be honest—this one is already a strong contender. There aren’t many bands out there making albums this good in the sleaze/glam/hard rock world. Some big names might try to top it, but it won’t be easy.
10. Crazy Lixx Is the Best in Their Genre—Period
If we’re talking about modern sleaze and glam, who else is really at this level? Hardcore Superstar, Crashdïet, The Cruel Intentions, Suicide Bombers and maybe The Hellacopters if we stretch it. But Crazy Lixx? They’ve been doing this for 20 years now, and they’re only getting better. A lot of bands from that early 2000s sleaze revival faded away, but these guys stuck around, and they just keep climbing higher. They deserve way more recognition because Thrill of the Bite proves they can go toe-to-toe with any of the legacy bands.
This album is a must-hear for any fan of sleaze, glam, or melodic hard rock. Crazy Lixx has delivered once again—bigger, heavier, and better than ever. Don’t miss this one guys!
