Wednesday 13 Releases New Song “When The Devil Commands” From Upcoming Album

Horror rock legend Wednesday 13 is back with a brand-new single, “When The Devil Commands,” from his upcoming 10th studio album, Mid Death Crisis. The album is set to be released on April 25 via Napalm Records.

Known as the “Duke of Spook,” Wednesday 13 describes the new album as a high-energy, no-nonsense rock record. “It’s a leave-your-brain-at-the-door rager,” he says. The album features his current band lineup, including guitarists Ashes and Jack Tankersley, bassist Troy Doebbler, and drummer Mike Dupke.

Inspired by the ‘80s Satanic Panic

Talking about the inspiration behind When The Devil Commands, Wednesday 13 recalls growing up in the 1980s when parents worried that heavy metal music was influencing kids in a negative way.

“My mother was always checking my cassette tapes to make sure I wasn’t possessed by the devil,” he says. “Most of the music I listened to wasn’t even about that, but it still got accused of being evil.”

For this song, he decided to write lyrics that would have scared his mother back then. “I wanted to make it clear what this song is about… the Devil. But it’s all in good fun, and we’re not planning to burn any churches!”

A Must-Listen for Horror Rock Fans

Fans of Wednesday 13’s dark and theatrical style can expect Mid Death Crisis to be full of heavy riffs, spooky themes, and high-energy rock. If When The Devil Commands is any indication, the album will be a wild ride.

Mid Death Crisis arrives April 25. Until then, fans can check out When The Devil Commands and get ready for more haunting music from Wednesday 13!
