Guns N’ Roses live in Belgrade, Serbia – Updates, Facts and Fan Reports
Guns N’ Roses are back in Belgrade Serbia for the first time since 2010. Tonight’s concert is the second ever in the capital of Serbia and third in total. After debuting in 2010 in front of Serbian crowd, the band played at Exit festival in Novi Sad in 2012.
The 2025 World Tour show takes place at Ušće Park which is located at the crossings of two rivers – Sava and Danube.
It is the 27th Guns N’ Roses concert on this 2025 tour with only 4 left. The opening act for tonight is, once again Public Enemy.
Interesting facts and fan reports:
- Official Guns N’ Roses pages on social media called this show as “the first ever in Serbia” which is completely wrong. They changed it after several hours and countless fan comments.
- During the Public Enemy performance fans reported that Cashless system (for buying beer and other things at the venue) was down. A major failure by the organizer in that regard.
- According to the fan reports we were getting during the show – Guns N’ Roses just nailed it. It was a fn spectacle. The band was tight as hell and people were pleasantly surprised with Axl’s voice, which was top notch.
Fan comments and report:
“Way better than Billy Idol (who played in Belgrade just a week before)”
“After this, I don’t even need to listen music anymore. It’s enough for the life 😀.”
“The band was happy, positive and they had some crazy energy on the stage. Especially Axl.”
“It was better than the previous two times (BG 2010, NS 2012) in Serbia, the whole band was in top form, of the new songs Hard Skool and Perhaps went over well, Absurd was a bit of a drag, the covers were all great, and three hours is really quite long. Too many people, decent organization, all in all – good.”
“It was absolutely phenomenal in every sense. Of course, it didn’t sound the same as it did 30+ years ago, but who does sound the same after 30+ years? No one, absolutely no one—not even the Stones. In any case, it sounded a million times better than in 2010 and 2012, when Axl still thought he could find a replacement for Slash and Duff (and he can’t—just like they can’t replace him). Just over 3 hours of playing, and absolutely every song we could ever wish for was on the setlist (okay, I would’ve loved My Michelle or Rocket Queen instead of Coma, which I never liked, but whatever).”
“After realizing the mistake the internet team made by calling this the first concert in Serbia ever, and after thousands of comments left by fans, it was nice to see Melissa Reed like my comment specifically :)”
“Fantastic. Great energy, Axl sang very good, the band is really a well oiled machine. But we all know that right. It was a spectacle!”
“The first part of the concert was fantastic and went by really fast. After that, around Sorry and The General, the energy dropped a bit. But everything was great. A long enough setlist, good songs, Duff sang New Rose. This I Love fit in nicely (better than Madagascar). And the band crushed it. Drummer Isaac Carpenter has unbelievable beats. Your jaw drops when he starts playing. Richard Fortus is a true superstar – rockstar. Style, looks, stage presence, everything. And he shreds those solos on Absurd and Chinese Democracy. I love that guy. Slash and Duff as usual, the pillars of Guns. And finally Axl, who was in an amazingly good mood. You could see in his eyes that he was happy. Some crazy look and energy. Jumping, climbing, screaming. It really was a spectacle.”
“I have no complaints about the song selection. As for the setlist, I think it’s well balanced. You’ve got 6 songs from Appetite for Destruction, one from GNR Lies, around 10 from both Use Your Illusion albums, only 3 from Chinese Democracy, and then there are the singles. From the covers, Slither – which Axl absolutely nailed vocally. The Black Sabbath cover was also great, maybe people didn’t recognize it, but I thought it was awesome. New Rose and Human Being fit in very nicely as well. On Human Being, Axl totally lost it. Jumping, running around the stage… All in all, brilliant. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
“Despite everything that’s been said about Axl over the years, all I can say is that the man sang everything the way it should be, just like on the record. Every detail was there. He didn’t hold back or skip anything, like on some previous tours. For me, he and his singing were definitely the highlight of this concert.”
“July 18 – Guns in Serbia. In the “full” lineup for the first time. We were in front of the stage about two hours earlier without beer and water (organizer’s fail), but there were no problems – we waited 20 years, we could wait another 2 hours. Boom!!! The famous intro line is heard, and the well-known riff of the song that got me hooked on Guns begins. Out come Duff, Slash, Axl, and the rest of the band… Delirium… Choir singing… “Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games…” To cut it short – 3 hours of playing, 3 hours of pure energy, pure rock ‘n’ roll, Guns didn’t have just a good or decent gig last night in Belgrade – no, they BLEW US AWAY, shattered us into atoms. I can’t remember a concert with this much energy and emotion. I can only conclude one thing. Hats off to the Stones, but the greatest band on the planet is Guns N’ Roses – they proved it last night. And yeah, Mickey Mouse couldn’t make it tonight, apparently he got sick, so he asked Axl to explain a few things at the age of 63, and what could Axl, a simple soul, do – he came and explained. As for Duff and Slash – no need to say anything more.”
