Avenged Sevenfold have released a special Halloween cover of Some Kinda Hate by the Misfits. Yes, it’s that time of year again when the band’s guitarist Zacky Vengeance suddenly transforms into Mr. Glenn Danzig himself. Not that they haven’t done it before, but every time Avenged Sevenfold do it, it simply rocks. M. Shadows may be the voice of the band’s catalogue, but Zacky is the man for the covers!
Over on Reddit’s r/avengedsevenfold, fans are already gearing up for the biggest night in rock and metal. One comment calls it a “damn good cover for the Halloween season,” while another says “we need a full EP of these Misfits covers.” Some even mentioned the visuals, suggesting the band “reduce the strobe lighting in the video,” with one user noting that “people with epilepsy would not be able to watch this.”
The Misfits original Some Kinda Hate appeared on the compilation Legacy of Brutality (1985). Avenged Sevenfold’s cover was released on October 24, 2025, as part of their annual Halloween tradition of covering Misfits songs.
The band publicly stated: “In keeping with the spirit of the season, this year’s offering of Some Kinda Hate is available to all”. In the previous years they covered “Hybrid Moments” (2021), “Last Caress” (2022), “Astro Zombies” (2023) and “Skulls” (2024), all them being Misfits tracks with Zacky on vocals.
