Where Is the Californication Pool: Mystery Location Solved by Fans
Have you ever wondered whose pool appears on the legendary cover of the Red Hot Chili Peppers album Californication, and where it’s actually located? If you’re a fan of RHCP, it must have crossed your mind at least once. Well, thanks to the internet, that mystery has finally been solved.
A few months ago, we came across a YouTube video from the channel GeoWizard, where the creator tries to uncover the exact location of the iconic pool. The guy is absolutely wild, in the best way possible. Besides finding things on Google Maps, he literally crosses countries and cities with ease. No joke. Total Bear Grylls energy.
But how did this discovery even happen? Fans had been searching for this pool for years without success, until two key details leaked online earlier this year. First, a photo of the pool surfaced, followed by information that it belonged to the house of the childhood friend of Californication cover designer Lawrence Azerrad.
That was all it took for people like GeoWizard to jump in and use their detective skills to track down this legendary location. Still, after days of searching, GeoWizard couldn’t pinpoint the exact spot of the pool (hey, it happens to the best of them), which he openly admitted in his video.
He later revealed that an RHCP fan had emailed him the exact coordinates of the pool. That fan, known as PsychoNinjaFlea on Reddit, posted the precise location in the r/RedHotChiliPeppers subreddit.
Pretty amazing stuff. This location is a major discovery in the rock world, especially since the Peppers are known for keeping secrets like this tightly under wraps. So big, in fact, that ten months later we’re sharing it with you here, since we’re also into similar geo detective adventures ourselves.
Fascinating story. Go check out the GeoWizard’s video, and seriously, don’t go bothering the people who live at the pool location!
