Quiet Riot Has The New Singer – So What Now?
John Torra is the new singer of Quiet Riot, the band announced on its social media profiles on September 21.
After two months of a saga surrounding the selection of Quiet Riot’s new singer, fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. John Torra has been chosen, the frontman of a young New Jersey band called Fire N’ Ice. He can now continue pursuing his childhood dreams, as he himself has mentioned, in one of the legendary bands of his favorite genre, or in what remains of it.
Almost everyone was dragged into this story, the entire hair metal online world. From Jizzy Pearl, who was bringing his Quiet Riot chapter to an end, to the accusations that John Torra was using AI, followed by reactions from the online community, primarily Steve Rachelle and Hair Metal Guru, along with many other familiar faces.
All in all, the Quiet Riot council, because it feels strange to call them a band when they are not one in the original sense, decided to listen to the majority. There probably isn’t a single person in the hair metal community who wanted a different outcome. Everyone was shouting John Torra, John Torra, and in the end, that is exactly what they got.
Now comes the baptism of fire, with a show in Oklahoma already scheduled for October 1, followed by a short tour running into early November. There has also been talk of South America in 2027. Maybe a new song along the way? Why not. They now have all the ingredients needed to revive that original Quiet Riot sound we have become accustomed to. Fans would certainly want that, but the question is whether Quiet Riot still has anything to say…
