When Sleaze Ruled Europe: BlackRain Drag Us Back to the Crazy 2000s In Their New Video
In the new video from French rockers BlackRain, Swan Hellion and the crew take us back to the second half of the 2000s. A time when glam metal was setting European clubs on fire, and sleaze was being poured into glasses instead of beer. If you’ve ever wondered, “what the hell is sleaze?”, or if you’re younger and didn’t get to experience the 2000s from your own perspective, this video will probably help you get the picture right!
At the center of it all – the capital of the emerging wave, or scene if you prefer, stood the bars Harry B James and Crazy Nights Rock Club, which gathered the sleaze/glam youth of Stockholm and the rest of Europe.
This is exactly where the story of this banger begins. In the video, besides authentic footage of BlackRain and their fans from the day, you can also spot some familiar faces such as Oliver Twisted (Crashdïet, Reckless Love), as well as members of the legendary band Danger performing on stage with BlackRain. If we missed anyone, feel free to let us know.
And here’s what the band had to say about their new video on their Facebook:
Once upon a time, around 2008, every Friday nights were celebrated at Harry B James, Stockholm, at Crazy Nights Rock Club. Those parties were the best, not only because the music was great but because Glam/Sleaze metal was the trend back then… I wish everybody could have had the chance to be there, and witness. We never saw, and met, so many people, young and older with make up and big hair, paying tribute to the 80´s gods, sharing their love for the style, those times in Stockholm were truly the WILD ones.Because those Crazy nights carved their Rock n roll mark in our hearts and surely defined the path we chose to take, we felt like it was time for us to pay our very own tribute to them. This is what this new song is all about! The very last video before the official release of the album and our release gig in Paris at @letrianonparis.
But, the good thing is – sleaze is not dead. It’s alive and rocking still in 2026. Otherwise, this website wouldn’t even exist and you wouldn’t have anywhere to find crazy sleaze news like this. Anyway, new BlackRain album is coming out in two weeks!
