Posted on July 18, 2026July 18, 2026 By JP

Almost every day, we receive a flood of Electronic Press Kits that fill up our inbox, and after some consideration we finally decided to start digging into the content ourselves. In most cases, there is music that completely misses the mark, not just for Junkyard Rock Stories world but in general. Anyway, every now and then, we come across something that’s actually worth checking out. Something that sticks out even if it’s not from our favorite genre that we are covering here. That’s why we are starting the new Junkyard Inbox series, where we’ll introduce you to the best discoveries from bunch of EPKs that we are getting overwhelmed with every single day!

Time Spent Driving – Weak Arm / December

The California indie emo veterans return with the first music from Lost Leaves, their first new album since 2023. The first double single, Weak Arm and December, reflects themes of personal growth, overcoming difficult periods and embracing a new outlook on life. The album also marks the band’s return to the stage after nearly two decades away from live shows.

Cascades – In Moments

Los Angeles newcomers mix alternative rock, post-hardcore and shoegaze into a sound that will appeal to fans of bands like Deftones and Thrice. Their debut single “in moments” introduces the themes of change and self-discovery that run throughout their upcoming EP Liminality which arrives in September.

Banda AL9 – Indigo Skye

The Brazilian brothers behind Banda AL9 went from viral TikTok videos to signing with Steven Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records. Their new album Hey! Hey! We’re Banda AL9 collects the songs that helped build their audience while also featuring Indigo Skye, a brand new track written specifically for the band by Van Zandt himself.

Ladysmith – The Bells of Babylon

Ladysmith use their latest melodic rock single to explore themes connected to the 2019 unrest in Catalonia. Written by guitarist Max Navarro, the song looks at questions of identity, freedom and the desire to have one’s voice heard. The band combine melodic hard rock with a cinematic approach that gives the track a strong sense of atmosphere.

Marylane – SEVEN

The Swedish rock band Marylane continue developing the fictional world of Marymaker the Clown with their second album Seventh Sense. The album explores themes of inner conflict and hope while building on a concept that unfolds with every release. It’s a refreshing approach and if you like bands like Ghost, you should totally check this one out!

Bastion Rose – Someday

Austin Frink’s battle with cancer nearly ended his singing career, but the experience became the inspiration behind Bastion Rose. Someday is a song about rebuilding your life after everything seems lost, backed by the band’s biggest and most confident sound so far. Amazing and inspiring story worth checking out!

If you use Spotify, you can find all these songs and much much more on official Junkyard Rock Stories playlist!
