Is Archie Cruz Preparing Something New? The Clues Are Adding Up!
Is Archie Cruz preparing something new? Well, it certainly does look like it. The former Santa Cruz frontman has caught our attention with a new Instagram post featuring Thy Row guitarist Erik Halonen and the hashtag #STYD26.
The photo shows the two musicians with their guitars in a studio surrounded by Marshall amps. Archie also added an hourglass emoji, hinting that something could be on the way.
The hashtag on this post #STYD26 obviously stands for Shred Till You Drop 2026. For those unfamiliar with the name, Shred Till You Drop was a guitar video series associated with Santa Cruz, showcasing the band’s guitar work. The hashtag raises the possibility of a new instalment in 2026, but could all this be connected to something even bigger?
Yes, there is actually more to the story. There are several accounts tagged onto the post. The first one is Wild Hearted Sons featuring a simple “Coming Soon” message. For now the account only has one post, the same one with Erik Halonen and Archie Cruz. If you check the info section you will see that the account is created in October 2026.
Archie’s post also involves Arto Lindén, who appears to be a famous Finnish video producer who worked with Archie Cruz in the past.
Is Archie preparing a brand new band, returning to his sleaze-metal roots or just bringing back the once popular guitar-shredding series? Neither the format nor the purpose of the posts has been confirmed, but as far as we on Junkyard are concerned, we’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
