Ratt Celebrates 40 Years of Out of the Cellar with Previously Unreleased Song
As part of the upcoming 40th anniversary of Out of the Cellar, Ratt released a previously unreleased song, Reach for the Sky, as a standalone single. The song dates back to 1984, from the recording sessions for Ratt’s debut album, and should not be confused with the band’s fourth studio album from 1988, which carries the same name. The anniversary edition of Out of the Cellar will be available on October 25th.
Ratt’s debut album, Out of the Cellar, was released on March 27, 1984, and quickly became a one of the defining records in glam metal. It peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum, selling over 5 million copies. The lead single, “Round and Round,” reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, bolstered by its iconic music video featuring Milton Berle. The album’s success coincided with the rise of MTV, showcasing Ratt’s catchy melodies and flashy style, which helped shape the rock scene of the 1980s.
