A Historic Encounter: Hanoi Rocks’ Michael Monroe Meets Vince Neil For The First Time

0

Michael Monroe, formerly of Hanoi Rocks, recently shared on his Facebook account that he had the opportunity to meet Motley Crue’s frontman for the first time in their lives at this year’s Finland’s Rockfest. This encounter would not have been newsworthy on its own, but considering the history between Hanoi Rocks and Motley Crue, this situation takes on a completely different context.

For those who might have not know or have forgoten, Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle, whose real name was Nicholas Dingley, tragically passed away on December 8, 1984. He was involved in a car accident while riding with Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, who was driving under the influence of alcohol. The collision resulted in Razzle’s death and had a significant impact on both the Hanoi Rocks and Motley Crue communities. The incident led to legal consequences for Vince Neil, including a prison sentence and a probation period. Razzle’s untimely death marked the end of Hanoi Rocks, as the band disbanded shortly after the tragedy.

The following message from Michael Monroe’s Facebook account:

“One of the most important moments of my life was meeting Vince Neil for the first time last night. Razzle always wanted us to meet as he thought ”us singers”were a lot alike. Under different circumstances both bands probably would’ve ended up as good friends, but fate had other plans…Thank you for your time, Vince. We didn’t say much but your eyes told me more than 1000 words ever could. And your singing was great at the show. Nice to finally see you guys live! ❤️Michael✨
