As we were discussing supergroups in our latest article-list, we just received the exciting announcement of another such project called Blackbird Angels. This group features Tracii Guns from LA Guns and Todd Kerns from Slash’s band. They have recently released their debut single titled “Shut Up (You Know I Love You)” and have revealed that their album, “Solsorte,” is set to be released on September 8th via Frontiers Records.
The lineup of this new hard rock trio is rounded out by Adam Hamilton on drums. Hamilton is an instrumentalist who not only worked on the latest LA Guns album but was also part of the band in the early 2000s, contributing as the bass guitarist on one of their best records, “Waking the Dead.” For the live performances Johnny Martin (L.A. Guns) will play bass and Sam Bam Koltun (Faster Pussycat, Budderside) will play guitar. You can actually see them in the video for the new song.
As this project is brand new, we are extremely excited to follow Blackbird Angels and see what they have in store for us. Indeed, they are all great musicians, and the collaboration between Tracii Guns and Todd Kerns promises a lot of exceptional music, starting with this first single.
