Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis Biopic in the Works
Universal Pictures has secured the rights to develop a motion picture based on Anthony Kiedis’ autobiography, “Scar Tissue.” The book, which was a compelling read, chronicles the life of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman, delving into his unconventional upbringing, the band’s ascent in the ’70s and ’80s L.A. punk scene, and Kiedis’ personal struggles with substance abuse. Brian Grazer, known for producing Oscar-nominated films such as “Apollo 13” and “A Beautiful Mind,” is already attached to the project through Imagine Entertainment, with active involvement from Kiedis and talent manager Guy Oseary.
As the film enters its early stages of development, fans can anticipate a cinematic journey that unveils the intricate layers of Kiedis’ life and the profound impact on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ music. The memoir, titled after the band’s chart-topping 1999 single “Scar Tissue.”
