Def Leppard Teams Up with Tom Morello for Electrifying New Single
Def Leppard has unveiled a thrilling new single titled “Just Like 73.”This release is special not just for its fresh sound, but also because it features a collaboration with Tom Morello, the famous guitarist from Rage Against The Machine.
The announcement, made by The Oriel Company, reveals that “Just Like 73” brings a powerful blend of Def Leppard’s classic rock vibe with Morello’s unique guitar skills. The song captures the essence of the 1970s rock era, celebrating a time that deeply influenced the band. Lead vocalist Joe Elliott describes it as a tribute to the transformative period in their musical journey. Guitarist Phil Collen adds that the song symbolizes the awakening they experienced watching icons like David Bowie.
Tom Morello, excited about the collaboration, shares that playing a solo on this track was a blast for him. He recalls his college days when he played Def Leppard’s “Rock of Ages” in his cover band, expressing admiration for how the band continues to rock stadiums with new music. Fans can also look forward to a high-energy animated music video for “Just Like 73,” premiering on June 20, 2024.
In addition to the new single, Def Leppard is gearing up for a massive co-headline stadium tour with Journey, starting July 6 in St. Louis, MO, and ending on September 8 in Denver, CO. The tour will feature special guests like Heart, Cheap Trick, and Steve Miller Band on select dates.
This year, Def Leppard also celebrated the 40th anniversary of their iconic album “Pyromania” with a Deluxe Expanded Edition. This edition includes the original album, previously unheard demos, live shows from the era, and much more.
