Our friend and fellow content creator Trevor aka Krash from Krash Kourse Metal Show YouTube channel stopped by to tell us his Top 5 albums of 2024.

The year 2024 is over and we had plenty of albums in Metal released throughout the year and today i am giving you my favorite 5 along with some honorable mentions.

5. Notorious – Marching On : (Pride and Joy Music)

This is the album the has grown on me most throughout the year. Now i did enjoy this upon the first spins but as time is going i find myself visiting a few tracks again and again including standouts “All Night” which is a Melodic anthem for a Saturday. “Eternal Fire” is a edgier and up paced track , also the title track to close the album brings Notoriouss’ Black Metal influences in in vocal style to this track which is a nice twist and wish they did this slightly more in the album.

Album Rating : 4/5 For Fans of : True Norwegian Glam Metal , Stryper style Vocals and London.

4. Within Silence – The Eclipse Of Worlds: (Ulterium Records)

I came across this album by chance at a record show and was drawn into by the album Artwork and come to find out they are more in the style of Power Metal and was super impressed with what i heard in the Lyrics and Musical arrangements. Based Lyrics with vocal style of a Bruce Dickinson from the 2000-2003 Era of Iron Maiden. The Epic song on here is 13 minutes long and it does not disappoint and in fact i would put up there with some of my favorite epics in my whole collection! Battle Hymm is a single one of the best punchy tracks on here , also check out the title track as well!

3. Lipz – Changing The Melody : (Frontiers Records)

This was the most anticipated album for me that this list for this for me as i was aware of their previous work but couldnt get any physical albums due to being OOP and i was not dissapointed. Lipz delivers great hooks , Catchy chorus’s and memorable songs for days on this album. it baffers me everytime i hear any Lipz song that nothing from their catalog is on Rock Radio or Mainstream Radio for that matter. Songs like “Secret Lover” , “Bye Bye Beautiful” and “Stop Talk About..” prove that. Cant also forget ” I Would Die For You” which is a really good ballad that holds up to their legendary ballad ” Everytime I Close My Eyes”!

2. Babylon A.D. – Rome Wasnt Built In A Day (Perris Records)

This is the album i think i was the most suprised by due to not hearing anything from Babylon AD other than their second album “Nothing Sacred” from 1992 and their great Self-Titled Debut album from 1989 (A Top 50 Hair Metal Album for me) and sometimes when these ’80s bands put out new releases after their Golden Era (86-93) alot of fans reject it due to drastic sound changes .BUT Babylon AD does not fall into that category with this album and is a pretty strong album the whole way through. There is only a few fast and heavy tracks with the rest of the album filled with mid tempo and slower tracks and Ballads but that is not a hindrance here for this album. The slower songs are super strong and you can feel the emotion the Derek Davis delivers in his vocals on these songs like “Face of God” , “Sometimes Love is Hell” “I Will Never Love Again” .

1. Sabire – Jatt (Listenable Records)

From the first time i listened to this record i had a good idea it was going to be my favorite and six months later it is just as good if not better ! Most People are unaware of what Acid Metal is , once you listen to Sabire you will know exactly why Sabire is Acid Metal. awesome eerie production , catchy choruses along with fast and edgy anthems including “ice Cold Lust” , “Toxic Man” and “Im A Rock” along with a good slower paced Ballad style song of “The Last Day”. These songs and album will be stuck in your head for days, weeks and months like it has been for me !
