“New Album Might Shock Some People, But We Had To Do It” – Swan Hellion Opens Up About BlackRain’s New Creative Direction

Posted on January 6, 2025January 6, 2025 By JP

BlackRain frontman Swan Hellion recently sat down with Richy Kearns for an exclusive interview on Kearns’ popular YouTube channel, where he dropped exciting news for fans of the French hard rock band. The band has completed work on their latest album, which Hellion describes as a significant step forward for the group.

During the interview Hellion revealed that the band has been busy not only recording but also creating accompanying visuals for their upcoming release. “We just recorded a great album,” he shared enthusiastically. “We shot two videos, and one just got to the final step of editing.”

Hellion also opened up about the creative risks the band is taking on this album. “It’s very different, I must say. It might—maybe not shock—but some people might not expect this from us, might not enjoy it, because they want Hellfire and Untamed. But we’re giving them something else. And that’s something we really wanted to do. Every member of the band agreed—it’s something you’ve never heard from BlackRain before.” Bold words, but coming from Hellion, it’s the kind of ambition fans have come to love.

But wait, there’s more. Curious about the roots of BlackRain? Why they shifted from speed metal to sleaze glam? Want the inside story of their infamous L’Alhambra concert in 2011? That, and plenty more rock ‘n’ roll tales, are waiting for you in the full interview below.
