Trash Stars Cover – Glamour Punks Give Their Seal of Approval

Mickey Lord, the guitarist of the iconic Los Angeles glam-punk outfit Glamour Punks took to social media to throw down some serious praise for Trash Stars, a rising band that dared to cover their cult-classic track “Video Nasty.”

Finally, someone with balls to cover one of our songs. On behalf of the band… it’s approved. F* yeah, Trash Stars!!!**” the legendary axeman wrote, sending fans of both bands into a frenzy.

Trash Stars didn’t waste time returning the love, replying with equal passion and gratitude:
If we needed confirmation to know we’re doing things right, this is it!!! Thank you, Mr. Lord!!! Long live our idols, the Glamour Punks!!!

The original track “Video Nasty” is a standout gem from the Glamour Punks’ album One Sick Pose, a record that cemented their place as underground legends in the hair metal and glam-punk scene. Trash Stars, staying true to their rebellious roots, brought the track roaring back to life on their debut album Never Too Late for Too Much released last year.

But this isn’t the first time Trash Stars have dared to honor their glam-punk heroes. In 2023, they released a full album of covers, paying homage to the bands that shaped their sound and attitude. One of the standout tracks was their fiery 2022 standalone single Rumor, a re-imagining of a song by Heart Throb Mob, the legendary cult Hollywood glam punk band that dominated the early ‘90s scene.
