Ghost Shake Things Up With New Single, Album News, and Papa V Reveal – We React!

Are you watching this livestream too, like thousands of fans every single day? Ghost have been making big moves this week, starting with a cryptic livestream from Las Vegas and now dropping brand-new music. On Wednesday, March 5, the band released a new single called “Stanized” and announced their upcoming album Skeleta, which will be available on April 25.

We did a reaction to “Stanized,” and it’s clear that fans have a lot to talk about. The song gives a first taste of what’s coming on Skeleta, and excitement is already building. But the biggest surprise came in the music video for “Stanized,” where Ghost officially revealed their new frontman, Papa V Perpetua.

Before this, Ghost had been teasing his arrival through a mysterious livestream called “FumataCast.” The stream, which started in Las Vegas, showed a large billboard that said “V is coming” from different angles. The band posted, “We wish to inform you, What Happens in Vegas, Stays on the FumataCast! Let us live in the anticipation of what could be.”

Fans on Reddit pointed out that “fumata” means “smoke” in Italian. In Vatican tradition, white smoke from the Sistine Chapel means a new Pope has been chosen. Many believed that if smoke appeared on the livestream, it would signal Papa V Perpetua’s reveal. However, the livestream actually stopped on March 4, just a day before the new single dropped.

With a new Papa now introduced, a fresh single out, and an album on the way, Ghost have set the stage for an exciting new era. The new album is arriving three years after the previous release IMPERA.
