Glitter Litter just dropped a brand-new single called “Johnny’s Got a Girlfriend” and it’s everything you’d want if you are into bubbleglam punk rock with power-pop choruses kissed by sunset strip glitter.
It’s the first single from the upcoming double-sided album that’s getting released in two doses:
Side A – Final Night to Make It Right (coming soon)
Side B – Perish in the Morning Sun (coming later this year)
Both doses (sides) will pack 5 songs each—10 tracks total—a full-length in disguise.
So, who’s Johnny?
The title’s a tribute to not one, but two cult glam-punk anthems: one by Heart Throb Mob, the other by The Ultras, both kicking off with “Johnny’s got/had a girlfriend.”
That little connection sparked something in Andreas (the glitter wizard behind Glitter Litter) and soon he was deep in Johnny Fever—seeing Johnnys everywhere.
The song’s lyrics also channel vibes from White Lion’s “Out With the Boys” (yep, another Johnny cameo) and the tough but dreamy vibes of The Outsiders film.
But wait a second, how does it all sound? Well, it’s bubblegum glam/punk dipped in cotton candy fuzz, with a poppy 80s metal shine. Foxy Roxx fist-fighting Queeny Blast Pop outside a 7-Eleven or something.
Who the hell is Glitter Litter?
Glitter Litter is a solo project outta Sweden, the brainchild of Andreas (formerly of Sugar Shock).
This ain’t your average bedroom project—it’s loud, bright, candy-coated, and seriously catchy.
Influencesd by: Glam rock. Comic books. Happy 80s metal. Punk rock with lip gloss.
The project started two years ago and already dropped three EPs. 2025 is shaping up to be the year of Glitter Litter, with a full album coming at you in two sugar-coated halves.
