You Weren’t Supposed to Hear This: Guns N’ Roses Yokohama IEM Recordings Leaked

As we mentioned in one of our previous episodes on our YouTube channel, the Guns N’ Roses Live in Yokohama IEM recordings have been released. No, this is not an official release by the band — it’s something else entirely.

During a concert in Yokohama, Japan, someone hijacked and stole the IEM transmission (IEM stands for in-ear monitors) from the soundboard. This transmission captures all the instruments and backstage communication between band members during the show.

Whether this is legal or not (probably not), the recordings were actually released in Japan in CD format — and now they’ve also surfaced on YouTube. You can hear the entire concert in the video below, complete with some hilarious exchanges between Axl and the rest of the band.

Some highlights include a failed intro to Bad Obsession, and a funny comment Axl made after Perhaps, where he referenced the release of the two new songs Atlas Shrugged and Nothing. Both of those tracks can also be found on CD number 4, which features IEM recordings from the Yokohama soundcheck.
