Fan Poll: The Best Cinderella Songs Of All Time

Welcome to the new Junkyard Fan Poll, everybody!

Thanks to your contributions, we managed to answer the big question: What are the best Cinderella songs of all time?

We asked you to give us your choices — and you delivered! We gathered a ton of input, so stick around.

This is our third big Fan Poll after Hardcore Superstar and Faster Pussycat.

Cinderella is one of the most influential hair metal bands out there, despite having released only four studio albums. It’s not easy to achieve such a high status in the rock and metal community with such a modest discography, but these Philly rockers took it to another level.

Cinderella is a legendary hair metal band — no doubt about it.

We asked you all in the usual places:
– Our Facebook profile
– The fantastic r/HairMetal subreddit
– Our small but very dedicated hair metal community on X (Twitter)
– And even on our YouTube channel

So, enough talk — let’s dive into the results!

10.Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone) (Long Cold Winter 1988)

Let’s begin with a ballad, okay? Yeah, if it were up to us, there probably wouldn’t be any ballads—but this isn’t an editorial list, these are your choices! And it seems like you all really love this 1988 power piano-driven ballad written by Tom Keifer, which also became the band’s most successful single of all time coming from the Long Cold Winter record.

9.Heartbreak Station (Heartbreak Station 1990)

Next, we have—another ballad! This time from the band’s third album Heartbreak Station, which is also the only song from that album to make it into this Top 10. Cinderella went heavily into blues on this record, whether you want to admit it or not, and that’s exactly why we don’t have more songs from this album in our Top 10. Simply put, it’s a weak record and a strange change in direction, especially in 1990, when hair metal was still going strong.

8.Coming Home (Long Cold Winter 1988)

And then we have yet another ballad. You guys are either trying to start a fight with us or it just turned out this way. Coming Home is a track from the second album that’s also way too bluesy for normal rock ears. It’s like they were predicting the musical path they wanted to take. A shame—so much talent melted into such a median sound.

7.Nothin’ For Nothin’ (Night Songs 1986)

And finally, in seventh place, a proper rocker—and of course, it’s from the debut album Night Songs from 1986. How could it be any other way? Nothin’ for Nothin’ cuts deep and hits right where it should. A great track and well-deserved spot on the list of the 10 best Cinderella songs.

6.Shake Me (Night Songs 1986)

From the same album comes the mega rocker Shake Me. It’s pretty strange that this song didn’t end up higher on the list, considering it’s probably one of the most recognizable tracks the band ever released. But hey, it doesn’t matter—we’re not complaining. Without Shake Me, this Top 10 just wouldn’t be complete. Hair Metal at it’s finest!

5.Nobody’s Fool (Night Songs 1986)

If Shake Me is Cinderella’s most recognizable anthem, then Nobody’s Fool is without a doubt the band’s biggest ballad. Here, we’re talking about a monster track. Honestly, we’re surprised it didn’t take the number one spot. This is the gateway song for anyone just getting into the band—and also one of the strongest power-dark ballads in the entire genre.

4.Bad Seamstress Blues / Fallin’ Apart At The Seams (Long Cold Winter 1988)

This song is probably the biggest surprise on the list—the opening track from the Long Cold Winter album. A classic Cinderella Mississippi blues hard rock banger. Maybe even an underrated song when you look at the band’s entire discography.

3.Night Songs (Night Songs 1986)

Night Songs, which opens the first album—and therefore their whole discography—is a true little masterpiece. Ominous but filthy guitars, Tom Keifer’s raspy voice, and that dirty, heavy vibe were the unique elements of Cinderella. It’s a shame, a real shame, that they strayed from this path and turned toward blues and country. If they had continued in this direction, who knows how we’d be talking about them today.

2.Somebody Save Me (Night Songs 1986)

Somebody Save Me is also a big surprise. Not just that it made the Top 10, but that it landed at number two on the list of the best Cinderella songs. Everything said about the previous track applies here too. That entire first album is unbelievably good. Heavy, bluesy, and it rips. What more do you want?

1.Gypsy Road (Long Cold Winter 1988)

And in first place, we have a track from the second album—and of course, it’s the legendary Gypsy Road. People just love that bluesy flavor and gypsy vibe in rock music—it’s as simple as that. Probably the biggest hit from the 1988 album and, according to you, the greatest and best Cinderella song in this Junkyard fan poll.

But as you all know, this is not the end of the Junkyard Poll. Here are some more interesting facts and results we were able to extract from it:

If we rank the albums based on the number of votes each song received, it would look like this:

  1. Night Songs – 37.25% of all votes
  2. Long Cold Winter – 33.89%
  3. Heartbreak Station – 15.77%
  4. Still Climbing – 13.09%

As expected, the first two albums received by far the most points compared to the last two. The last two albums also contain songs that didn’t get a single vote. Those songs are Winds of Change and Easy Come Easy Go. Still Climbing didn’t have a single song in the Top 10—not even in the Top 15.

That was it guys! Thank you all for participating and we will see you next time!
