Erik Grönwall Reveals Why He Left Skid Row in New Interview

Erik Grönwall recently gave an interview on the YouTube channel The Metal Global, hosted by Jorge Botas, where he explained why he left Skid Row and opened up about the challenges of touring and his decision to go solo.

Specifically, Jorge asked why, after H.E.A.T., Skid Row, and working with Michael Schenker, Erik decided to go solo. Erik explained that his proposal to Skid Row to reduce touring didn’t receive mutual understanding:

Erik’s quote:

“The reason why I decided to leave that was because I could feel that I still needed more time to really properly recover after all my treatments and I felt like it became too much to be on the road as much as they wanted. So my proposal was to do a little less touring but we couldn’t find common ground, and that’s fine. That’s totally fine – but that’s the reason, that’s the answer to your first question.”

Of course, this is just a small segment of the interview we’ve pulled out for you. There was also a lot of discussion about the new singles and the album Bad Bones, which is set for release on May 22, as well as plans for the future and the upcoming tour.
