Europe Strike Back with Riff-Driven New Single “The Cult of Ignorance”

A new single from Europe titled The Cult of Ignorance has caught attention as the band continues building momentum toward their upcoming album Come This Madness. The track serves as the second single from the record, following the earlier release One on One (available 25th September).

Going into the song the expectations were somehow mixed. The previous single did not leave a strong impression, both musically and visually, making this release an important moment to reassess what the band is bringing with their new material.

The Cult of Ignorance immediately stands out with its core strength, which in this case is – the riff. From the first listen, it drives the entire track and makes a powerful and memorable presence. The combination of keys and guitar work delivers a classic Europe feel, but with enough punch to keep it engaging. The chorus, on the other hand, may not be the main highlight, but it fits well within the structure and carries its own charm.

Compared to One on One, this song lands much stronger. While the previous release struggled to connect on so many levels, The Cult of Ignorance succeeds mainly due to its pure riff-driven energy and cohesive sound.

In the end, The Cult of Ignorance feels like a clear step up and a more convincing preview of what the upcoming album might offer, with its riff doing most of the heavy lifting. The video itself is packed with famous Swedish personas, so it is totally worth watching, as it is our Junkyard Rock Stories reaction to it!
