The Greeks Are Coming to Niš: Cyanide 4 on Their Serbian Debut
Greek hard ’n’ heavy glam rockers Cyanide 4 are coming to Niš. Yes, you heard that right! It will be their first ever show in Serbia, and Niš will be the first stop of a Glam Special Night, where they will perform alongside Belgrade’s Shotgun Sally and Novi Sad’s Crockett.
How did an event like this end up happening in Niš? How did the collaboration between the Greek and Serbian bands come about, friendship between Cyanide 4 and Shotgun Sally, what they know about Niš, the Greek rock scene, and of course, what awaits you at Livnica on November 5th – we talk about all of this with Cyanide 4 drummer Adrian.

1. Cyanide 4 are coming to Serbia for the first time. What are you most looking forward to about the trip?
Hello to everybody on Junkyard Rock Stories and thank you for the hospitality! Well, technically, it is our 2nd time in Serbia, because we met with Shotgun Sally in Belgrade, on our way to Bratislava for the 1st date of our tour together, last year. But this time, it will be our 1st time rockin’ in Serbia, so that counts more!!! Surely, we are looking forward to meeting our friends and having fun together, sharing the stage once again and of course feeling the energy of the Serbian crowd, as well as doing some sightseeing -if it fits the schedule, hopefully- in 2 really beautiful cities!
2. You first met Shotgun Sally during your joint tour last year. How did this whole thing come together, and how did you click so well?
Well, Milan (Shotgun Sally guitarist) from the boys was in contact with us for well more than a year before that tour took place. We have been discussing about possible joint-tours/show-exchanges and when we were booked on that tour, we’ve got info that another band was needed…Immediately texted the guys, saying that there’s that opportunity on the table…and the rest is history! Greeks and Serbians always match! Especially, when we all share the same passion for rock ‘n’ roll and music, generally!
3. Niš will be completely new territory for Cyanide 4. Have you checked out anything about the city or its rock scene?
To be honest, all the info we have so far is that it is the 3rd largest city of the country, has an airport and it was the birthplace of Constantine The Great! Aah, and that a river runs through it, haha! Regarding the scene, unfortunately, we haven’t done so much search yet, mainly because of the fact that Milan from Shotgun Sally took care of arranging everything, but we’ll do for sure and we’ll also make a “to-do’s” list for our short stay there, hoping we’d have some time to spend walking around, as mentioned previously.
4. You play Niš on November 5th and Belgrade the next day. How do you see this little two-show run?
We are really looking forward to rocking both cities for the 1st time! Since the first time that we got in touch with the lads from Shotgun Sally, we wanted to visit Serbia and rock together, so, now it’s finally time! We also tried for a couple of more shows on that run, but it didn’t work quite well at that point…Hopefully next time we will be able to arrange a more extended Balkan Tour, visiting Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia once again.
5. What do you hope people in Niš and Belgrade will remember about your shows?
Our energy, power for sure…and hopefully some lyrics and melodies, haha! Not joking, we will give our souls on stage, like we do every single time! Prepare for a hot night, full of melodies and rock ‘n’ roll!
6. What’s something about the Greek rock scene that people outside Greece don’t really know? Or should know?
I guess that the big Greek bands are well-known abroad…I mean, bands like Rotting Christ, Septic Flesh, Suicidal Angels, Firewind. The scene is growing, especially considering some specific genres. Unfortunately, the Hard Rock/Glam Metal scene stays still on the underground, relatively, but generally many bands take the next step, play abroad to new audiences, do bigger productions, etc. I believe one of the Greek bands that is really loved in Serbia is the Villagers of Ioannina City, which is a Folk/Progressive Rock/Metal band. I think they recently played or are about to play in Belgrade…

7. What’s cooking in the Cyanide 4 camp? Anything new on the way?
We’ve reached the “5-year-gap” between each album-release, sooo…that may be a clue, haha! A new album is on the table, we have many ideas ready to work on but we haven’t decided on a concrete plan, yet. Additionally, we are about to record/release a new videoclip/single, hopefully just before the end of the year. But except for the album, we always try to book shows and play in new places and I believe in 2027 we’ll have the chance going a little bit further North in Europe, for some shows. And of course, we also plan some shows in Greece for early Spring, but are yet to be confirmed.
8. Someone in Niš hears Cyanide 4 are playing Livnica on November 5th. What do you tell them to get off the couch and come to the show?
If you love rock ‘n’ roll vibes and want to listen to powerful melodies and big choruses, then this is your chance of doing so! Add to that, we are accompanied by 2 great bands that are about to deliver sleazy hard rock at its purest and finest! Hope to see and meet you all in Niš! Idemo Srbija and Rock on!
Cyanide 4 will hit the stage at Livnica in Niš on November 5, alongside Shotgun Sally and Crockett. The show starts at 8 P.M.
Be there!
