Shotgun Sally Have Their Own Way Of Keeping Sleaze Alive
Belgrade sleaze rockers Shotgun Sally are back with a new video single Love Ride, the second taste of their upcoming album Wolves, Angels & Bedtime Stories….
Shotgun Sally clearly know how they want to present themselves, and this video gets it totally right. Love Ride mixes old-school sleaze rock visuals with a certain modern touch, giving the whole thing a colorful but dirty look that fits the band’s attitude perfectly. What separates a band like Shotgun Sally from a bunch of the new 2020s hair metal acts is that they know their roots but don’t feel stuck in the past. They bring their own style and unique charm to it.
Musically, Shotgun Sally stick to their guns. Love Ride sits somewhere in the territory of Faster Pussycat, Star Star and Bang Gang, with that familiar dirty bluesy-punk spirit running through the song.
There’s also a familiar name behind the studio work on this one. Ivan Petrović handled production, mixing and mastering, while Martin Sweet of Crashdïet joined as co-producer and backing vocalist.
Following Bedtime Stories, the first single from the upcoming album, and now Love Ride, we’re already curious to hear what Shotgun Sally have in store next. During their interview with Junkyard Rock Stories ahead of the Glam Special gigs in Niš and Belgrade, guitarist Milan and vocalist Luka promised that the album should arrive by the end of the year. Let’s hope they keep their word!
