Dregen: “Hopefully There Will Be More Backyard Babies In The Future”

Legendary Backyard Babies and The Hellacopters guitarist Dregen was recently interviewed by Michael Butler on his podcast, Rock N Roll Geek Show. They discussed many interesting topics related to Dregen’s career, and one of the questions was about the future of Backyard Babies, who are currently on hiatus.

Here is a transcript of that part of the interview:

Michael Butler: Do you still stay in contact with the rest of the guys from Backyard Babies?

Dregen: Oh yeah, yeah, I stay in touch with them quite a lot, actually.

Michael Butler: So you’re still friends with them? There was no falling out or anything like that?

Dregen: No, not really. There was no falling out. It’s just that my summers have been pretty crazy for a while now, because I’ve been touring with two bands at the same time. It got to the point where I just felt like I didn’t want to do that anymore. I want to focus on one project at a time. But no, Backyard Babies hasn’t split up or anything. It’s more that I’ve been feeling like I want to explore some musical ideas on my own. Plus, I’ve been having such a good time with The Hellacopters. But hopefully, there will be more Backyard Babies in the future.

They also talked about other interesting topics, such as Dregen’s audition for Guns N’ Roses, “feud” with Hardcore Superstar, his involvement with Michael Monroe, and the possibility of a newThe Hellacopters record, his beer and many more interesting things.

But you know what? We’re not going to tell you everything because that wouldn’t be fair. So, if you’re a fan of Dregen, go listen to the interview on the Rock N Roll Geek Show wherever you enjoy your podcasts, and be sure to follow—because we’re talking about one of the best podcasts out there with the one and only Michael Butler.
