Danny Rexon (Crazy Lixx) – “80’s and 90’s Movies Profoundly Influenced Me As a Musician”

Crazy Lixx is in the process of releasing re-recorded and re-imagined songs for their new compilation, “Two Shots Of Glory.” So far, both songs have received unique videos primarily featuring scenes from 80’s movies. We also wrote about how the band achieved more than two million streams in just four weeks for one of their older songs from 2019, which also featured an 80’s movie-themed video.

In a recent press release from the band’s label, the frontman of the band, Danny Rexon, explained why they decided to undertake this project.

“For almost a year now I’ve been doing these UST (as opposed to the widely known term OST), where I reimagine our music as the soundtrack to 1980s and 1990s movies. This era profoundly influenced me as a musician, music producer, and videographer”.

These UST videos draw inspiration from a wide range of films, from blockbuster hits of the 90s to lesser-known 80s B-movies. They’ve gained immense popularity with both new and longtime fans, amassing nearly 10 million views in the past year. Some of these videos have even gone viral and climbed the official YouTube rock music charts.

“In the end, it’s a fantastic way to visualize our musical concept and our passion for this retro rock style that played such a vital role in the movie experience during my formative years. The best movies always had killer rock soundtracks, and we want to be a part of that tradition’ – Danny concludes.

“Two Shots at Glory” serves as a commemoration of Crazy Lixx’s illustrious 20+ year career, featuring reimagined renditions of their iconic choruses, unforgettable hooks, and electrifying guitar solos, all while introducing some exciting new surprises. Crazy Lixx will be on tour across Spain/Portugal this Fall with additional dates planned in 2024 including the Monsters of Rock Cruise 2024 departing out of Miami, Florida. Current tour schedule is as follows:
