The 69 Eyes “Fade To Grey” – New Song Feat. Diane Warren
The 69 Eyes released a brand new single this Friday. Interesting thing is that the band has joined forces with legendary American songwriter Diane Warren to create this soulful power ballad called “Fade To Grey”.
Diane Warren, who is often regarded as “the most influential songwriter in the world,” has an impressive repertoire of timeless hits. She has collaborated with iconic pop stars like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, as well as legends such as Cher (“If I Could Turn Back Time”), Celine Dion (“Because You Loved Me”), and Whitney Houston. Her work also extends to rock icons, including Aerosmith (“I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”), The Cult (“Painted On My Heart”), and Meat Loaf (“I’d Lie For You (And That’s The Truth)”). With 15 nominations and a Grammy win, she has also been honored with two Golden Globe awards and has been nominated for an impressive 15 Oscars. In 2022, she was awarded an “Honorary Oscar” by the Academy’s Board of Governors.
According to Diane Warren, she encountered a highly impressive individual who perfectly embodied the essence of rock ‘n’ roll while shopping two years ago. This person was Jyrki, the incredible vocalist of The 69 Eyes. And now, their collaboration on Warren’s song “Fade To Grey” is set to launch. Warren expresses her enthusiasm for the release and eagerly awaits for others to listen to it.
Jyrki 69, the lead singer of The 69 Eyes, expresses his enthusiasm about working together with Diane Warren, stating that it was like a dream come true. He recalls the moment when he was approached by a lady on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and asked who he was. He was taken aback and did not understand the significance of the encounter at the time. Only later did he realize that the woman was Diane Warren, the renowned songwriter behind his favorite song by The Cult, “Painted On My Heart.” Unfortunately, he missed the chance to collaborate with her, but her successful tracks continued to follow him. Watching her perform at the Oscars, he finally mustered the courage to reach out to her, resulting in the creation of their powerful ballad, “Fade To Grey,” which he believes was necessary for both the world and The 69 Eyes.
The song “Fade To Grey” was created at Inkfish Studios in Helsinki, Finland by producer Erno Laitinen. It was then mixed by Miles Walker at Westside Studios in Atlanta, GA before receiving final touches from Bjorn Engelmann at Cutting Room in Stockholm, Sweden. The artwork for the single was designed by Marcelo Vasco, known for his work with Slayer, Kerry King, Dimmu Borgir, and other artists.
