Winners of the 2024 Junkyard Rock Stories Awards Announced

Hello, friends, dudes, and dudettes! Welcome to the 2024 Junkyard Rock Stories Awards winners announcement. This year has been nothing short of magnificent for the world of rock. We’ve had incredible album releases, amazing videos, unforgettable songs, and some fantastic new bands introduced to us.

What made this year even more special was your overwhelming response to the newly created Junkyard Awards. In previous years, we only chose the best albums, but this time, we’ve made it bigger, better, and more exciting. And, of course, YOU made it all possible.

Thanks to your votes, we have our winners. So stick around, and let’s start this journey!

SCROLL ALL THE WAY!

Best Rock Moment of 2024

Let’s start with the most laid-back category of this year’s awards. We created this one just for fun—and what fun it turned out to be! This category has not one but TWO winners, as both moments received the most votes (15,9% each).

But that’s not all! Just 1% fewer votes went to two other iconic moments: the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing on the beach in LA for the Olympic closing ceremony and Perry Farrell attacking Dave Navarro on stage. Brutal results!

Best Content Creators of 2024

This category sparked a lot of interest! As we mentioned, these were the creators we interacted with the most this year, which is why they were nominated. The same could happen to others next year, so stick around with us!

And the Best Content Creator of 2024, as voted by YOU, is… HAIR METAL GURU! Congratulations, man! Amazing job!

Hair Metal Guru won with 21.8% of the votes, beating Krash Metal Kourse, which took second place with 19.4%. Tied for third place were Hair Metal Mixtape and Richy Kearns Productions, both with 17%. Congratulations to all of you—keep up the great work!

Lastly, we’d like to mention that, since this was an open category, you guys wrote in a lot of interesting names. Even Junkyard Rock Stories got a vote—thank you for that, dudes and dudettes!

Best Rock Videos of 2024

Now, let’s dive into the music categories! The Best Rock Video Award goes to… CRAZY LIXX for their magnificent video release of Little Miss Dangerous! Congratulations, guys! As always, an incredible effort, and the song is part of their upcoming new album—which we absolutely cannot wait to hear.

The Swedish rockers came out on top in a very tough competition, winning with 20.9% of the votes. Coming in second place were two videos tied at 14.4%: The Midnight Devils – Get Laid and Suicide Bombers – All for the Candy. Budderside – Good for Nothing claimed third place with 12.4%, while The Gems – Queens and Kissin’ Dynamite – The Devil Is a Woman rounded out the top five with 6.5% of the votes each.

Congratulations to all of you!

Best Legacy Artist Videos of 2024

Now, for the legacy artists, we have a big surprise—or at least some might say so. The award goes to… BILLY MORRISON!

Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, Circus Diablo) claimed this award with an impressive 22% of the votes, triumphing over some very tough competition. Featuring legends like Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Stevens on the track Crack Cocaine probably helped seal the deal!

Second place went to Mick Mars – Loyal to the Lie, third to Sebastian Bach – (Hold On) To the Dream, fourth to Marilyn Manson – As Sick as Secrets Within, and fifth to Linkin Park – The Emptiness Machine. The results were all pretty close!

Congratulations, Billy, and a big shout-out to all the nominees!

Best Heavy Rock Songs of 2024

The best song categories were nothing short of exciting! Starting with the Best Heavy Rock Song of 2024, the award goes to… CROSSBONE SKULLY – I’m Unbreakable!

This little alien rocked its way to victory with a staggering 42% of the votes, beating Budderside – A Thousand Teardrops, which landed in second place with 13.5%, and Myles Kennedy – Say What You Will, which secured third place with 10.6%.

Congratulations to Skully and to all the contestants!

Best Legacy Band Songs of 2024

As expected, this category was incredibly close. The award for the Best Legacy Song of the Year goes to… SLASH ft. Demi Lovato for their stunning blues cover of Papa Was a Rolling Stone!

Until the very end, Judas Priest – Panic Attack was in the lead, but the mighty Slash and pop superstar Demi Lovato pulled ahead, winning with 18.9% of the votes compared to Judas Priest’s 18.4%. In third place, we have Mick Mars – Loyal to the Lie.

Congratulations to all the nominees!

Best Sleaze/Glam Hair Metal Songs of 2024

And now, dudes and dudettes, the category we’ve all been waiting for—because, let’s face it, it’s sleaze/glam (or hair metal, if you prefer), and we absolutely adore this kind of music here at Junkyard Rock Stories!

The award for the Best Sleaze/Glam/Hair Metal Song of 2024 goes to… SUICIDE BOMBERS – Dynamite Playboys! Congratulations, guys!

The Norwegian sleaze rockers took home this prestigious award with an incredible 27.8% of the votes, beating the mighty Crazy Lixx – Two Shots of Glory, which came in second with 14.8%, and The Midnight Devils – Get Laid, which landed in third with 11.8%.

The rest of the nominees were also very close to the top three, adding even more excitement and value to this category. Keep an eye on this one for next year—it’s bound to be madness again!

Congratulations to all the nominees!

Best Alternative Rock Songs of 2024

Now, let’s talk about the opposite side of the rock spectrum! Once again, we had a fiercely competitive category, with results being incredibly close.

The award for the Best Alternative Rock Song of 2024 goes to… LINKIN PARK – The Emptiness Machine! Congratulations to the returning legends with their new vocalist.

They won with 19.8% of the votes, while Jerry Cantrell – Afterglow and The Offspring – Light It Up tied for second place with 14.1%. Coming in third was Marilyn Manson – Raise the Red Flag with 13.6%.

A very exciting and intense race this year—congratulations to all!

Best Punk ‘N’ Roll Songs of 2024

The final category we added to this year’s awards turned out to be incredibly exciting. A little diverse in terms of musical styles, it proved to be a worthy addition as the race remained uncertain and thrilling until the very end.

However, there can only be one winner, and this time the award goes to… PROPHETS OF ADDICTION – Let’s Get High!

The sleazy punk ‘n’ rollers claimed victory with 24.8% of the votes, beating the legendary The Hellacopters, who took second place with 17.6%, and Scottish sleaze guru Steve Vincent, who landed in third with 12.7%.

Congratulations to all the nominees! We’re definitely keeping this category for next year!

Junkyard Rock Stories Artists of 2024

This is where we choose the best artist of the year—but not just any artist. This is the Junkyard Rock Stories Artist of the Year, making it a prestigious honor in a fiercely competitive category!

And the award goes to… CROSSBONE SKULLY! Congratulations once again! Ever since he landed on Earth, this little alien has proven there’s no messing around with him. He nailed it with an impressive 39.5% of the votes (maybe he’s got some superpowers—who knows?).

The rest of the Top 5 was equally exciting:

  • Suicide Bombers took second place with 18.8%.
  • Budderside came in third with 9.9%.
  • Kissin’ Dynamite landed in fourth.
  • Wildstreet rounded out the Top 5 in fifth place.

Congratulations to all the amazing artists!

Best Up-And-Coming Artists of 2024

Last but definitely not least, we present the Up-And-Coming Artists category. This is a crucial part of the Junkyard Awards because we need to keep an eye on the new forces shaping the future of rock!

The award for the Best Up-And-Coming Artist of 2024 goes to… LADY STRANGE! Congratulations, guys!

Lady Strange dominated with 36.6% of the votes, followed by the sleaze rockers Shotgun Sally, who secured second place with 17.7%. In third place, we have the heavy metal witches Cobra Spell, with 10.9%.

This is such an important category, so be sure to give these bands a listen or drop them a like—they won’t disappoint! It was a fierce battle, and all nominees deserve recognition. Congrats to all bands!

So, that’s it, right? The awards are over? Not quite yet!

Our traditional category, the one that started it all back in 2017—The Best Albums of the Year—is still here. You can check it out now, and trust us, this madness never gets old!
