Jane’s Addiction Chaos: Farrell Assaults Navarro During Performance

September 14, 2024 – Last night, chaos erupted at Jane’s Addiction’s performance at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts, when frontman Perry Farrell unexpectedly assaulted guitarist Dave Navarro, leading to an abrupt end to the show.

The incident occurred during the band’s performance of “Ocean Size,” a fan-favorite track from their 1988 album Nothing’s Shocking. Video footage circulating online shows Farrell turning on Navarro for no apparent reason during the song. Reports from fans in attendance and video evidence suggest that Farrell appeared either intoxicated or under the influence of substances during the performance.

Midway through the performance, Farrell reportedly lunged at Navarro, grabbing him aggressively. Navarro appeared genuinely shocked and confused by the attack. The situation escalated quickly, with the band’s roadies rushing to separate the two musicians. Farrell was forcibly removed from the stage as the altercation unfolded, leaving Navarro and the rest of the band visibly rattled. The show was immediately cut short, leaving fans in shock

Band’s History and Recent Reunions

This shocking event comes just weeks after Jane’s Addiction reunited with its original lineup for the first time in 14 years, performing an intimate show in London to kick off their highly anticipated 2024 co-headlining tour with Love And Rockets. The tour, produced by Live Nation, was slated to be a celebration of the band’s legendary status in alternative rock, with stops across North America.

The 23-city tour began on August 9 in Las Vegas and had been progressing smoothly until last night’s incident. Jane’s Addiction is scheduled to perform their next show on September 15 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater.

The Fate of the Tour

As of now, there is no official statement from the band or management regarding Farrell’s behavior or the future of the tour. With several major shows planned in cities like Toronto, Milwaukee, and Chicago, fans are left wondering whether the tour will continue as planned or if Farrell’s outburst will lead to cancellations.
