New Single from The Darkness: “Rock and Roll Party Cowboy”
British rockers The Darkness have released a brand-new single this Friday titled “Rock and Roll Party Cowboy.” The track is the opening song of their forthcoming eighth album, Dreams on Toast, which will hit stores and streaming platforms on March 28 via Cooling Vinyl. This marks the band’s third single from the album, following “I Hate Myself” and “The Longest Kiss.”
Band’s frontman Justin Hawkins explained that the song is about people thinking how cool he is, but also thinking far too small.
“People recognise me as astronaut pirate movie star cool and that’s obviously accurate,” he explains. “What they may have overlooked though, is that I am also ROCK AND ROLL PARTY COWBOY cool… which is a good 15 percent cooler!!! I think you’ll recognise that in the first listen.”
