Electric Callboy “The Way You Are” Is One Big Joke… And I Couldn’t Stop Laughing
Electric Callboy have released another preview of their upcoming album Tanzneid, (coming out August 7th) , and this new creation The Way You Are, let’s call it that way, is possibly their most ridiculous idea yet. The song begins as an over-the-top late-’90s boy band ballad before exploding into chaotic metal complete with gore, severed heads and pure madness.
The band themselves described it as a collision between “the sweetest late-’90s boy band love ballad” and one of the heaviest songs they have ever written.
Being as it is, completely without point, that bizarre contrast caught me completely off guard during my latest reaction. I wasn’t impressed by the song itself, but I couldn’t stop laughing at the video. The severed heads casually sitting on bar chairs as if nothing had happened was something worth seeing at least.
On the other hand, as usual, fans seem just as divided. Many immediately compared The Way You Are to Hurrikan, calling it another tongue-in-cheek anthem designed for who knows what rather than serious listening. Some praised the band’s sense of humor and said the video completely made the song, while others felt Electric Callboy were repeating the same formula instead of bringing something new. Just your typical fan thing, I guess …
Anyway, watch my full, reaction below and let me know where you stand. The reaction is cut in pieces because YouTube blocked it worldwide. Suddenly they decided just to do it, while for my previous Let The Good Times Roll, everything was just fine…
