The Purple Daisies Is the Deep Purple Tribute Fans Didn’t Know They Needed

When The Dead Daisies took the stage at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois a few weeks ago, they could have easily filled their set with songs from their own catalog spanning seven studio albums. Instead, they decided to do something different by dedicating their short performance entirely to the music of Deep Purple.

Unlike many songs from the 1970s that have gradually faded from public memory, classics such as Highway Star, Burn, and Mistreated remain concert staples more than 50 years later. And when your band features rock legend Glenn Hughes, a performance like this almost feels inevitable.

That meant fans didn’t hear familiar Daisies favorites like Make Some Noise or Mexico. Instead, they got The Purple Daisies, a one-off tribute that blended the band’s own live energy with some of the biggest cuts in classic rock..

Now, fans who couldn’t make it to Illinois can experience the performance for themselves. The full six-song mini concert has been released on YouTube, giving everyone a chance to watch what the band calls The Purple Daisies in full production quality.
