Confess Just Released An Album, So Why Another Single Already?

Confess released their latest studio album, Metalmorphosis, back in May, but apparently the Swedish sleaze rockers weren’t particularly interested in sitting around for too long before giving fans something else. Their new single The Curse is already here, accompanied by an official music video.

As revealed in a May interview with Sleaze Roxx, Metalmorphosis had actually been a long time coming. Drummer Samuel Samael explained that the recording process began back in 2024, with some songs dating as far back as four years. Guitarist Blomman’s departure also contributed to delays, while the album eventually reached Frontiers Music Srl in September 2025, several months before its eventual release.

Vocalist John Elliot admitted that, in an ideal world, the album would have been released the same week it was delivered to the label while Samael even joked that the band would have been happy to give fans some newer material by then.

Well, one way or another, the fans got the new song The Curse which was released on October 29. It’s an interesting song, longer than usual which that takes significally darker turn, arriving just ahead of Halloween. “With Halloween just around the corner, we figured it was the perfect time to unleash something a little darker,” said John Elliot.
