Nicke Borg Announces Live Comeback and Sparks Backyard Babies Reunion Talk
Nicke Borg has announced his return to live performances, confirming a new tour set to begin in August. The Backyard Babies frontman shared the news on Instagram, revealing both the tour plans and the lineup of his backing band.
Joining him on stage will be Anton Hiller on drums, Marcus Sunesson on guitar, Albin Nymaan on guitar, and Mattias Rasmussen on bass. Borg expressed excitement about hitting the road with what he called “brilliant musicians,” adding that the tour will focus on bringing songs from the so-called “golden era” of Backyard Babies back to life.
That comment immediately sparked speculation among fans about the setlist. Many are now wondering whether the shows will lean heavily on classics from albums like Total 13 and Making Enemies Is Good, or if there will be a broader mix including material from his solo work, such as the Nicke Borg Homeland era and Ruins Of A Riot. If we are to be asked, probably something like that!
The announcement also reignited questions about the future of Backyard Babies. In the comments, fans asked whether a full reunion or touring return might still happen.
“Is BYB over?” – Borg responded cautiously but with hope, saying – “not at all, but not right now!” When asked – “Are we gonna get the Babies back touring UK again” – he simply added – “I hope so!”.
For now, the focus is on his upcoming solo run, which premieres at Piren Festivalen on August 14. While it is not a Backyard Babies reunion, the tone of his answers has left fans with renewed optimism that the story of the band is not over yet.
