Top 10 Crazy Lixx UST Videos: The Ultimate Soundtracks To 80s And 90s Classics

Ah, the movies from the 80s. You thought you had seen them all? No, no you didn’t, because every time a new Crazy Lixx UST video pops up, you know it’s time for some movie magic – popcorns, sodas, and the party is about to start!

Approximately one year ago, Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx started releasing UST videos on their official YouTube channel, gaining a lot of positive vibes and popularity. UST stands for “unofficial soundtrack,” which these videos actually are—unofficial soundtracks of blockbuster movies from the 80s and 90s, as well as some lesser-known B-movies from the same period.

Each one of them, as might be expected, contains a track from Crazy Lixx’s catalogue. The band is well-known in the hair/glam rock world as one of the best newer bands that bring that unique 80s and 90s hard rock sound, making them an absolute perfect match to bring you back in the time when many believe it was the best ever. Crazy Lixx have released around 30 of these videos so far, and some of them even went viral, achieving multi-million views on YouTube.

“For almost a year now I’ve been doing these UST (as opposed to the widely known term OST), where I reimagine our  music as the soundtrack to 1980s and 1990s movies. This era profoundly influenced me as a musician,  music producer, and videographer”In the end, it’s a fantastic way to visualize our  musical concept and our passion for this retro rock style that played such a vital role in the movie experience during my formative years. The best movies always had killer rock soundtracks, and we want to be a part of that tradition.” – band’s frontman Danny Rexon explained in one of the previous press releases.

All in all, these videos are amazingly satisfying to watch, according to the fans’ reactions, and overall, it was a great success for the band. That’s why we decided to bring you the top 10 list of the best ones we think are worth watching. The band released almost 30 o them and is surely going to continue doing so, it wasn’t easy to narrow it down to only 10. Anyway, here is our list, and you are welcome to tell us which ones you like too, besides our picks.

10.Children of the Cross【UST】”The First Power” (1990)

Let’s start this journey with a perfectly crafted tune from Crazy Lixx’s epic 2010 album New Religion and a fairly underrated 1990 supernatural sci-fi horror thriller starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Tracy Griffith, and Jeff Kober. The dark side of this movie clip blends perfectly with Crazy Lixx’s unique big choruses and melodies trademark sound.

9.It’s You【UST】”Weird Science” (1985)

wo teenage boys use a computer to try to create their perfect woman in this 1985 classic teen comedy starring the one and only Kelly LeBrock. What else do you need? That’s right—a seamless, love-oriented Crazy Lixx tune with big choruses and killer melodies, like this one from their 2019 album Forever Wild. Just look at those colors when their perfect woman comes alive— just brilliant!

8.Live Before I Die【UST】”Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1992)

Now, let’s fight some vampires, shall we? Or we can let the beautiful Kristy Swanson do it and save our generation from these evil things. Trained by the legendary Donald Sutherland in this 1992 dark teen comedy horror movie, Kristy’s graceful yet deadly dance saves her generation from these evil creatures. And all that beauty is paired with another monster track from Crazy Lixx’s 2017 album Ruff Justice. Can it get more astonishing than this?

7.Snakes in Paradise【UST】”From Beyond” (1986)

Another tune from Ruff Justice finds its place on this list, staying in the same lane of the sci-fi horror genre. The gorgeous Barbara Crampton, grotesque crawling creatures, horror, domination, fear, or the killer melodies of the song ‘Snakes in Paradise’—what do you think would get you first? From Beyond (1986) may be considered a cheesy movie, yet now, it’s a cheesy movie but a flawless soundtrack.

6.Eagle【UST】”Rocky IV” (1985)

The Rocky film series hardly needs an introduction, as it was one of the most iconic movie franchises of the 80s. Crazy Lixx actually created two UST videos using clips from the fourth installment, Rocky IV (1985). Instead of the usual fighting scenes, we chose one featuring the two fighters preparing for their match. The song that accompanies it is . This slow-paced, melody-driven tune from the band’s 2019 album Forever Wild perfectly complements the intense training scenes—rock lifting, weight lifting, machine punching, and the grueling preparations. The whole thing feels authentically 80s perfection to its core.

5.Ain’t No Rest In Rock N’ Roll【UST】”Airheads” (1994)

Now, we did mention that there are some 90s movies sprinkled throughout this list, didn’t we? Take, for instance, the cult 1994 music drama Airheads, starring Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler. When a band breaks into a radio station to play their new demo tape and ends up holding everyone hostage with plastic guns, what else do you need to succeed? Of course, another killer Crazy Lixx revamped banger, like this one from their 2024 compilation album Two Shots At Glory. Early 90s melodic sleaze/glam at it’s finest!

4.Weekend Lover【UST】”Poison Ivy” (1992)

Young Drew Barrymore in the 1992 erotic drama thriller Poison Ivy, along with several steamy and lasvicious scenes and another great riffy-rocker from the 2019 Forever Wild album (this album keeps getting featured on this list—we should probably do a Crazy Lixx album ranking to see if it’s really that awesome). Can this be any more perfect? You’re either developing a crush on Drew (people really did back in 1992 because of this movie) or falling in love with Crazy Lixx if this is your first time hearing their music. That’s it!

3.She’s Wearing Yesterday’s Face【UST】”Killer Workout” (1987)

And this is the video we were talking about—the one that sparked a multi-million view count for the band. Why? Well, beautiful women doing aerobics from the 1987 B-slasher movie Killer Workout is a pretty simple explanation, right? The comment section below the video says it all. Once again, the track that plays is from the 2019 Forever Wild album. It’s very rhythmic and fits perfectly with the exercise scenes.

2.Whiskey Tango Foxtrot【UST】”Tango & Cash” (1989)

Crime-fighting LAPD cops trying to take down an evil baron in the 1989 action drama Tango & Cash, starring legends like Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell, is the perfect culmination of everything we’re discussing here. Big explosions, intense fight scenes, and a beautiful lead female role played by Teri Hatcher—this movie has it all! It just needs a perfect soundtrack. And of course, our boys Crazy Lixx can deliver, with track like the whiskey-soaked melodic riff hurricane “Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot,” a revamped version from their 2024 compilation. Together, it all feels more 80s than the actual 80s, so to speak. Somebody should really hire these guys to provide the perfect movie soundtracks!

1.Wicked【UST】”Stripped To Kill” (1987)

Maybe this b-slasher movie Stripped to Kill (1987) isn’t the best one you’ve ever seen in your life (just 4,9 on IMDB), but it is by far the best UST video made by Crazy Lixx, which is why it holds the number 1 spot on our list. It simply has it all. First of all, it’s from 1987—the epitome year of hair/glam metal music. Then, when you blend beautiful 80s women dancing with a masterclass 80s-sounding hard rock anthem, you get this perfection of a get this 4 minute magnificence. It just screams “Girls, Girls, Girls” meets Tawny Kitaen dancing on the Cadillacs (both from 1987, by the way). It truly hails the once biggest, loudest and sleaziest rock sub-genre. It’s erotic, dirty, sleazy, perfect, it’s absolute—just take a look at those colors again; 80s vibe at its finest. And once again, the song is from the Forever Wild album!

And that’s it, friends. This is our Top 10 Crazy Lixx UST Videos list. We must admit again—the band really did something special with this unique concept. By the way, don’t forget that they have a lot of great self-made proper music videos as well. We might create a list of those sometime in the future. Until then, check out all of the Crazy Lixx UST videos and let us know which ones you think should have made our list.
