Born Out Of Conflict – Vindicta Enter New Era After Chaotic Dogma Split
Vindicta are stepping into a new era following their split from Dogma, with members Grace Pasturini and Amber Maldonado revealing major plans for their debut tour, upcoming album, and new music direction. In recent interviews, the band discussed their first live shows, creative freedom, and how past struggles are shaping their future as they build toward their first full-length release.
First Show and Future Touring Plans
Vindicta are moving quickly from controversy to creation. In two recent interviews with That Aussie Metal Guy and Metal On Tap, Grace Pasturini (Lilith) and Amber Maldonado (Lamia) outlined a clear direction for the band’s future while also reflecting on the breakdown of their previous project, Dogma.
The most immediate step is the band’s live debut. Their first ever performances will take place in Australia, marking not only their return to the stage but also the first time Vindicta will be seen anywhere in the world. The choice of Australia was not accidental in any way. Both musicians pointed to the strong support they received there during the collapse of Dogma, including backing from fans and promoters who actively chose to bring them over in their new form.
Speaking of the possible set-lists, according to the Lilith and Lamia (yes they will perform as the characters) will lean heavily on material from their previous band, as that is what audiences know them for, but the songs will be presented differently. Grace Pasturini described the new performances as more immersive, interactive, and intense, with a stronger sense of storytelling and full creative control shaping the experience. At the same time, Vindicta will introduce new material, including their debut single The Face of the Clown and at least one or two additional songs.
Album Plans and New Music Direction
Looking ahead, the band is already deep into writing their debut album. They estimate they are about a third of the way through the process, with a target release window of late this year or early next year. Before that, several singles are planned for release over the summer. The writing process is still evolving, with songs sometimes brought in fully formed and other times developed collaboratively, but the key difference is complete creative freedom which they lacked before…
Musically, the band is aiming for a broader and heavier sound as their influences vary widely. Going all the way from groove metal to modern metalcore and pop. The result should at the end be a mix of aggressive riffs, melodic choruses, and theatrical elements. Grace Pasturini also confirmed that the new material will feature more extreme vocals, adding another layer to their evolving sound.
Breaking Away from Dogma
The story of all stories, the elephant in the room – or however you want to call, it is the story about their previous band which they cleverly and intentionally never mentioned in these interviews. Both Grace Pasturini and Amber Maldonado spoke openly about the restrictions they faced in that project. They described it as heavily controlled, with elements that felt scripted and disconnected from who they were as artists. Grace Pasturini noted that they were not even allowed to write music within that framework, which limited their ability to express themselves creatively. They also mentioned, or better say confirmed that a lot of it was just AI generated stuff…
The situation eventually escalated during touring, where they described feeling exploited and constrained. Much of that frustration is channeled into The Face of the Clown, a song built on the emotional weight of those experiences. Amber Maldonado explained that it was the first time they were able to express their side of the story after being restricted by non-disclosure agreements.
In contrast, Vindicta is built on authenticity. Both musicians repeatedly emphasized that everything in the new band comes directly from them, from the music to the visual presentation. While the band still uses characters and theatrical elements, they see these as extensions of their real personalities rather than masks to hide behind. Grace Pasturini described her stage persona as a way to access parts of herself that she cannot express in everyday life, rather than an entirely separate identity.
And the proof of that authenticity can already be seen in the video for the song The Face Of The Clown what came out just a day before this article:
A New Chapter Begins
Vindicta are entering their new phase with a clear strategy: establish the live show, reconnect with audiences using familiar material, introduce new songs, and build toward a full album release. At the same time, they are redefining their identity after Dogma, placing control, authenticity, and creative ownership at the center of everything they do.
This is a band born out of conflict, highly focused and creatively reset – ready to take the world with no excuses!
Fun fact: In an interview Lamia gave in April 2025, she mentioned the inspiration they drew from glam rock artists, mainly regarding their makeup, such as Mötley Crüe, Ratt, and W.A.S.P. This time, however, she emphasized that her guitar playing is influenced by bands like Falling in Reverse and I Prevail. Lilith, on the other hand, mentioned Pantera as her biggest influence.
The tour starts in Australia June 24, later shifting to Japan and Europe.
