Andy Biersack Calls Out “Artless” Collabs in Modern Rock
Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides spoke to Rock Sound about the band’s current moment, touching on their latest record, live shows and the way collaborations are handled today. One part of the conversation, that happened on this year’s Download Festival, stood out as he went into detail about how features are often driven by money and streaming value rather than real artistic connection.
Speaking openly, Biersack said that being approached with offers tied to fees and extra conditions felt “so heartless and artless” and added that “the conversation being surrounded only on the economics and practicality… it was so artless that it made me feel really gross.” He made it clear that while he believes artists should get paid, the process itself has lost something important when it becomes only about numbers.
There are more things said in this interview like playing one of their best festival shows without their drummer, the band’s growth over 16 years, the confidence behind the new record and many other interesting topics. So go and listen to it on Rock Sound YT channel.
Black Veil Brides released the new album titled Vindicate on 8th of May 2026. This marks their seventh studio release that came out five years after the previous release The Phantom Tomorrow.
