Ghost Drop Peacefield – A Show-Opening Anthem with Major 80s Vibes
Just three days ahead of the release of the album Skeleta, Tobias Forge and his masterpiece we all know as Ghost decided to treat us fans with another single – Peacefield. The song has already been played on every single show of the current Skeletour, but due to the no-phone policy, only the lucky fans who attended these rituals had a chance to hear it live.
Peacefield is the third pre-album single, after Satanized and Lachryma, and is also the album opener track written by Tobias Forge, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare.
But as you already know, we asked the wonderful Ghost fanbase across several social media platforms to tell us what the song actually sounds like—and of course, they delivered. Ghesties who were at the Manchester and Glasgow rituals told us the following: Peacefield is a great show opener, it sounds like Journey, it’s magical, and it undoubtedly has a strong 80s vibe. Brilliant, energetic, and incredible were the most used adjectives for both Peacefield and Umbra.
Yet again, thanks to the best rock community in the world for spreading the word with the rest of us. Now it’s time for the rest of us to enjoy it too. And yes, of course, we did a reaction video to this magnificent track!
The album is only a few days away, and the excitement around Ghost is getting bigger and bigger every day. Stay tuned—because here on Junkyard, both on the website and on YouTube, we’re preparing a lot more treats for every Ghost fan out there!
